The Southampton midfielder lent his support to the scheme, which has received funding from BT Sport's charitable initiative, The Supporters Club, and also the Premier League.
Saints Connect is a project aimed at young people, aged 11 to 16, across Southampton's most disadvantaged communities, who are on reduced timetables or who have been identified as being in need of additional educational support.
It is designed to provide opportunities in sport, music and art to achieve accredited outcomes and improve educational performance.
Ward-Prowse said: "It's massively important. It's a great help to the whole city, and especially these young people at school who do need their help, and it's a pleasure for me to come down here.
"Southampton's a big city, and these young fans in school need our help and support, and it's great to come down here and be able to give that."
