The defender has made four appearances during his first year as a scholar, but is hoping for more time on the pitch during the seven Barclays Under-18 Premier League play-off fixtures.
With the Swans first up for Craig Fleming’s side, Langan says the squad is in good spirits ahead of their opening play-off clash.
“It’s a good time for us as players to start pushing on,” he told youtube.com/southamptonfc
. “Players who haven’t had a lot of time might get more of a chance now over the next few games.
“A lot of the players have treated it as a new start with the number of changes in the team and first-year scholars getting good minutes.
“It’s a good time to start again because we weren’t especially happy with the regular season.
“I’m hoping personally I can get a good run of games and consistency in my performances to prepare well for next season.”
With one win and one defeat against the Swans during the regular season, Langan is expecting a tough encounter when the Welsh outfit visit Staplewood.
“Away from home we beat them and it was a good result for us, but at home we suffered a three-nil defeat,” Langan added.
“It was the game before the Youth Cup so maybe there was more of a focus on that. I think we’re looking to get a good result at the weekend.
“It’s a good one for us because we like to play teams that play good football. It’s a nice first game of the play-offs for us.”
