Ronald Koeman says he is an admirer of the style of play promoted by AFC Bournemouth and their manager Eddie Howe.

Saints visit the Vitality Stadium this evening in the Barclays Premier League, looking to do the double over their south coast opponents, having beaten them 2-0 at St Mary’s earlier in the campaign.

But Koeman expects the Cherries to offer a fair bit of attacking threat tonight.

"The way how they like to play is to create and to score goals, and not to stopping goals,” he told Southampton’s official YouTube channel.

“I think they like to play football and they like to create and play offensive and I like that style.

“They had problems in the first half when they played here against Southampton. I think we played on that time the first 45 minutes very, very good against them and we created a lot of problems.”

Koeman thinks that Bournemouth will also have learned some lessons since the sides faced each other at the start of November.

"They changed a little bit,” he said. “Sometimes they change their system. They had some new signings in, new players, but I think the way how they like to play has not changed.

“The manager likes to play football, likes to play offensive football and of course it's more difficult, it's really Premier League and they need time to adapt, but I think they are doing well and it's a strong team. They have good players and at home they are very strong.”
