The success for Forster comes a month on from Saints boss Ronald Koeman winning the Manager of the Month award for his side’s efforts in January.
Forster returned from his long-term injury during January, but really made his presence felt in Saints’ first game of February, as they drew 0-0 with Arsenal at Emirates Stadium.
The England international made a succession of top-class saves to keep Arsène Wenger’s side at bay and extend his run of clean sheets to four games.
It became five when he kept West Ham United out in a 1-0 win, despite Saints going down to ten men early in the second half, before keeping another clean sheet at Swansea City a week later in another 1-0 success.
Despite his excellent run coming to an end in the 2-1 defeat to Chelsea, Forster broke a 15-year-old club record by going 708 minutes without conceding a goal in the top flight.
Forster becomes the sixth Southampton player to win the Premier League Player of the Month award, and the first since Graziano Pellè in September 2014.
Koeman, who was shortlisted for the Manager of the Month award, just missed out on making it a double for Saints.
