Sadio Mané says he’ll be doing everything he can to return to form for Southampton when Liverpool visit on Sunday.

The winger, who scored his last goal in the Capital One Cup defeat to the Reds back in December, has been in and out of the side in recent weeks.

Mané admits his own form has not been as good as he would’ve liked, but says he’s giving his all to help turn it around and fire Southampton back into Europe.

“For me at the moment it’s not easy, because I think I can do better,” Mané said when talking to youtube.com/southamptonfc ahead of Sunday’s meeting with Liverpool.

“If you look at the last few months, for me it was not so good. It’s football and it can happen, but I’m working hard in training every day.

“I will give my best to find my form again and to help the team and the club.”

A European spot may be Saints’ aim this season, but Mané insists the team can’t be thinking too much about that as they look to climb up the Barclays Premier League table.

“I think the most important now is to not think about Europe. We have to focus game by game, try and win the game first and then everything will work out for us,” he added.

Next up is another game against a side rivaling Saints for a European spot in Liverpool, and Mané says Ronald Koeman’s men must respect Sunday’s opposition.

“There is not a special motivation, but we have to respect them. They have great players and play good football,” Mané added.

“We have the quality to win the game. I think we can win against any big team in this league, so we will give our best for that.”
