The 16-year-old striker has been in outstanding form for Southampton’s Under-18 side, hitting 14 goals in the Barclays U18 Premier League so far this season.
His scoring record of more than a goal per game has caught the eye of England U17 Head Coach John Peacock, who has named the young Saint in his 20-man squad for February’s trip to Portugal.
Fellow Southampton youngster Calum Chambers was in England’s squad as they won last year’s tournament, while James Ward-Prowse was selected a year earlier. Luke Shaw has also been capped by the Under-17s.
Yeovil-born Seager entered Saints’ youth set-up via the Bath Academy having been spotted playing for local side Pen Mill.
He follows a pathway previously trodden by Nathan Dyer, Gareth Bale and Jake Sinclair in coming through the Club’s satellite centre at Bath.
The Young Lions will use the Algarve Tournament as a warm-up for the Euro Elite Qualifying Round in March.
England are the reigning Algarve champions, and will begin the defence of their title against Germany on Friday 8th February.
Next up is a game against hosts Portugal two days later, with the Netherlands providing England’s final opposition on Tuesday 12th February.
