Host Families Wanted

PUBLISHED

11:57 10th July 2012

Southampton Football Club is looking for family homes that could accommodate our young players from 12-21 years of age.

Our Academy stars are encouraged to move away from home and live in the Southampton area preferably close to the club's Staplewood training ground in the area of Marchwood.

Saints are currently on the look out for host families, with the club committed to Equal Opportunities as well as safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.

Any applicant wishing to be considered as a host family will need to demonstrate they are able to share this commitment.

We are very interested in hearing from families within the Marchwood/Hythe/Totton area for specific players that currently need immediate accommodation.

Our placements vary from short-term to long term, with some specialist accommodation, offering short notice limited accommodation for trialists and their families or holiday cover for other Host Families.

If you are interested in applying to provide a caring "home from home", then please be aware that this position is subject to a satisfactory enhanced Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) Disclosure.

All applicants will be required to undergo a full assessment with our Club staff before consideration can be made as to suitability. Those intending to host children under the age of 16, will be required to work within the requirements of Private Fostering Regulations.

A monthly fee is payable to the host family for the duration of the placement.

If you would like further information on this opportunity then please email Ian Herding on iherding@saintsfc.co.uk
