Saints have been credited for their high-pressure playing style during the first few weeks of the season, with the side now sitting in a top-six spot after eight games.
And the manager says that staying true to those principles will be crucial if the side is to keep up its recent good form.
“Our main goal is to maintain how we want to play because we want to keep on getting results in the way we’ve been doing,” Pochettino told Saints Player
“It’s important that we know who we are and how we want to play. We also need to be aware that there’s a lot of the season left, so there’s a long time left for us to keep playing this way.”
Fulham come to St Mary’s on the back of consecutive wins in the Barclays Premier League, which have lifted them up to 14th in the table after a tricky start to the season.
And Pochettino is expecting a tough work-out on Saturday evening: “Fulham are a team that knows how to play football very well,” he insisted.
“They have a lot of good, talented players so it’s going to be a very tough game for us. We’re fully-aware that we are going to be facing technically-gifted players.
“Throughout the season they’ve been using a 4-4-2 system and defending very deep – we’ve noticed that’s how they’ve played against most teams. That’s how their footballing philosophy is executed.”
