Emmanuel Mayuka has linked up with Zambia as they prepare to defend their Africa Cup of Nations title.

The Saints forward is in the Chipolopolo's 26-man provisional squad for the 2013 AFCON, with manager Hervé Renard naming his final 23-man party on Wednesday.

Mayuka flew out to join up with his compatriots yesterday ahead of their pre-tournament friendlies against Morocco and Norway this week.

The 22 year-old will be ruled out of at least Saints' next four games and, depending on how far his team progress in the tournament, could be away for up to five weeks.

The 2013 AFCON is hosted by South Africa and kicks off in a fortnight's time, with defending champions Zambia placed in Group C.

The Chipolopolo begin their tournament on Monday 21st January, when they take on Ethiopia at 5pm South African Standard Time before facing Nigeria at the same time four days later.

Zambia's final group-stage fixture is against Burkina Faso on Tuesday 29th January at 7pm. All three of their Group C fixtures take place at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.

If Hervé Renard's men make it to the quarter-finals, they will be in action on Sunday 3rd February with the semi-finals scheduled for three days later. The final takes place at the National Stadium in Johannesburg on Sunday 10th February.
