The Under-18's recorded a fine 4-3 success over Chelsea at Staplewood on Saturday morning.
Substitute striker Sam Hoskins bagged a second half double for Saints in a game that the visitors led three times, before Dave Puckett's side hit back to see off the Londoners.
A familiar early opening goal went the way of the Blues as a blocked shot was followed in to put Chelsea in front with three minutes on the clock.
Saints levelled soon afterwards though as Jordace Holder-Spooner continued his good goal scoring record of late. He cut in on the left of the hosts' three pronged forward line to strike a left footed effort over the 'keeper to make it 1-1.
A direct free-kick was dispatched at the other end to put a cultural visiting side back into the lead before the half hour mark.
However, the young Saints refused to lie down and were back in the game before the break. Daryl McLean, playing furthest forward delivered a terrific pass to Holder-Spooner on the right after the goal scorer had switched flanks with Preen. The scorer of Saints' first followed up his opening effort with an equally good second as he made it 2-2 to complete a solid team goal.
Not long into the second half Chelsea were awarded a penalty, as Ciaran Harper was adjudged to have fouled a Blues' forward inside the area. The spot kick was converted as Saints trailed for the third time in the match.
The hosts stuck to their game though and were rewarded when Hoskins, who had just been introduced from the bench, arrived at the far post to head home Ben Reeves' free-kick to level things once more.
From there on Saints believed there could only be one winner and when Sam Argent played an excellent pass into the path of Hoskins, the first year scholar showed fantastic awareness and composure to clip a first time shot over the 'keeper with five minutes left to seal a deserved victory.
The youngsters' second success of the season and their first at home required all of the attributes they had been working on in the last few weeks when results hadn't been going their way, according to Coach Dave Puckett.
"We set ourselves up to play to our strengths but also to accommodate their play," he said.
"Conceding another early goal meant that the lads had to show good character once more to get back into the game and we got our rewards for continuing to work hard and being good defensively.
"Obviously I would like us to not make it as difficult for ourselves as that, and I want to see us take the lead in a match to see if we can win games from the start.
"A win at home was long overdue, but it was a relief to get it, and it was a reward for our courageous attacking play."
