The Under-18s are on course for success in the GF Cup which they are currently taking part in out in Denmark.
The youngsters have played two matches so far in the invite only international competition where Saints are the only English side involved.
A league and knock out format of eight teams are fighting it out for a place in the final and our young side are on course for a top four finish after collecting four points from their opening two games.
Hindered by the loss of six players who stayed on to face Eastleigh on Monday, a spirited performance from a side which included three under-16 players shared a 3-3 draw with Swedish team Malmo on Tuesday in a match which Saints twice trailed in.
A full strength side then took on Danish side AB and ran out convincing 5-2 winners with an impressive all round performance.
Saints face hosts Lyngby later today to try and secure a place in the top four, and Academy Manager Matt Crocker says that the tournament and the trip as a whole has been a success for the club regardless of the outcome.
"The boys have played some good stuff so far and have acquitted themselves well throughout the tournament, so we're really pleased with the way it has gone so far," he said.
"We've fielded some really young sides in comparison with the other teams here and that is a testament to the standards the boys have set themselves.
"There have been a lot of new additions on the staff front so it has been good to get together with myself and Jason Dodd because we've found out a lot about each other.
"In-between training and matches we've had time for recovery and swimming as well as taking in some of the sights of Copenhagen on our rest day.
"We've put ourselves in the driving seat for the competition and we're also developing a network out here which gives us every chance of success in the future too."
> Meanwhile, Saints' schoolboy midfielder James Ward-Prowse is currently representing England's Under-17s who are taking part in the Nordics tournament out in Finland.
So far, Ward-Prowse has featured in both games as the Three Lions ran out 2-0 winners over Denmark and in a crushing 5-0 victory over the hosts. Their next match is against Iceland later today.
