Saints in the Community have teamed up with 'Let Me Play' to launch an exciting new residential camp for 10-16 year-olds.
The Official Southampton FC Residential Camp will take place from 22 - 27 August 2010 at the Licensed Victuallers' School in Ascot.
The camp is designed to give participants an insight into a professional club and the way young players are developed and coached. It offers players between 10 and 16 an opportunity to get closer to the club, to be seen by Academy Coaches and to learn what it takes to be a professional. The week will be packed with daily training, development drills, football activities and matches.
The camp will include the following:
Highly qualified coaching from Saints in the Community Coaches
Learn from coaches who are experts in coaching, developing technical ability and teaching tactical play.
Learn how the professionals train
Using first class sporting facilities, participants will be put through their paces with professional drills like the players use. These will include: speed and agility training, skill development sessions, technical training and games.
Play in front of Academy Coaches
Have a chance to play in front of Academy Coaches who are experts at talent identification.
An exclusive insight into the Club
Gain an exclusive insight into the Club with a behind the scenes tour of St. Mary's Stadium and by meeting a player to hear what it is like to play for this professional side.
The camp will take place at the Licensed Victuallers' School which offers two full-sized football pitches, an indoor sports hall and a swimming pool. Both residential and non-residential options are available.
This camp is the latest addition to the Saints in the Community coaching programmes and is aimed at giving young people an intensive but fun coaching experience.
The programme offers those that want to improve their game the chance to work closely with club coaches to train daily and learn new techniques and drills.
