Schools Programme
As well as the leading grass roots football development programme in the region, Saints in the Community has developed into a multi sport provider working closely with over 70 schools a week to deliver the Curriculum PE programme.
School provision:- Curriculum PE
The Trust subscribes to the ethos of working in partnership with schools to support the objective of each pupil receiving a minimum of two hours of quality PE provision during the school day, with a further three hours offered on school sites or in the community.
Our curriculum delivery programme is based on the young people achieving the following:-
• travel with, send and receive a ball and other equipment in different ways
• develop these skills for simple net, striking/fielding and invasion games
• play simple, competitive net, striking/fielding and invasion games that they and others have made, using simple tactics for attacking and defending.
The Trust's coaches undertake regular staff training ensuring they have the appropriate training and qualifications to deliver a creative programme based on the expected outcomes of the school.
After School Clubs
Saints in the Community deliver After School Football Clubs in over 60 primary schools a week offering a professional and consistent service. Depending on the preference of the school, the Trust can either provide a coach for the school or organise the course administration on behalf of the school.
Flybe Community Cup
The Trust's flagship schools competition is a huge success each year with over 250 Year 6 pupils from primary schools throughout Hampshire competing for the prize to play at St Marys Stadium.
Working in partnership with Flybe, Hampshire County Council and the Southern Daily Echo the tournament is an integral element of the schools calendar. Congratulations to the current holders - St Peters Junior School (Boys) and St Monica Junior School (Girls) who were the successful schools at the 2009 event.
