Dean Wilkins

Posted on: Mon 25 Jul 2011

Dean Wilkins was appointed as assistant manager before the start of the 2009/10 season.

The brother of the ex-England international, Ray Wilkins, Dean had a long running association with Brighton & Hove Albion where he played and later became manager, taking the Seagulls just shy of the play-offs in League One.

In his playing days, he made over 300 appearances for Brighton as a midfielder and scored 30 goals, including one memorable last minute strike at the end of the 1990/91 season which took Albion into the play-offs.

Wilkins was placed in caretaker charge of the first team on 30th August 2010 until Nigel Adkins was appointed as the club's new first team manager, when Wilkins reverted back to his role as first team coach.
