Saints line up for their first pre-season friendly of the 2009-2010 season in their red & white home strip, with Eastleigh playing from left to right in their new yellow and blue change strip.

3: The hosts kick things off in bright sunshine at the Sliverlake Stadium, but Saints soon try their luck from the right with Matt Paterson putting a low shot wide.

5: Wayne Thomas shows no sign of last season's injury problems as he puts in a powerful tackle to deny Marcus Richardson a shooting chance at the opposite end.

8: Bartosz Bialksowski watches carefully as Brett Poate's downwards header flies wide of the Pole's left-hand post and out for a goal kick.

11: Eastleigh test Bialkowski again with a low shot to that's heading for the bottom corner before he makes the save.

13: The Spitfires have the ball in the back of the Saints net after Steve Clark's high corner is met by the head of trialist Marcus Richardson, but the goal is disallowed for a foul in the box.

16: Saints get back into the mix as Oscar Gobern puts the ball narrowly over the bar from a Lee Holmes corner on the right hand side.

23: Ex-Saints trainee Brett Poate comes close with a curling free-kick from just outside the area that goes just over the apex with Bialkowski at full stretch.

26: Jake Thomson wins Saints another corner on the right after a tussle near the flag, but Gillett is unable to create anything when the ball is knocked back to him.

28: Poate and Bialkowski collide as they both compete for the ball, but play quickly resumes without the need for the physios.

35: Eastleigh 'keeper Jason Matthews attempts to punch the ball clear from a Jake Thomson corner on the near side, but needs help from Peter Adeniyi to hook the ball up-field.

43: Poate almost gives the home side a late first half lead with a 25-yard shot, but Bialkowski is able to palm the ball onto the right-hand post and out for a corner kick.

HALF TIME: Eastleigh 0-0 Southampton

2nd Half: Southampton - Tommy Forecast, Sam Argent, Olly Lancashire, Jack Saville, Ben Reeves, Jack Boyle, Callum McNish, Anthony Pulis, Tom Dunford, Matthew Paterson, Ryan Doble.

46: Eastleigh make three half-time substituitions - Poate, Clark and Oliver OFF Preston, Goodhind and Challis ON

53: Paterson creates Saints' first chance of the second half, put his close range shot is fired wide of the near post.

54: Saints survive a scare on the goal-line as Richard Gillespie almost sneaks a low ball under Forecast, but the former Spurs stopper recovers well and stops the ball before it trickled across the line.

57: Lancashire shows bravery to throw himself at the ball to head clear a danderous cross in from the left from Preston.

59: GOAL 0-1 Saints take the lead with a well-worked goal just before the hour as Callum McNish lays the ball off to Matt PATERSON to the left of goal before he slots home a diagonal ball under the 'keeper.

61: Another Paterson shot from a more central position sees Saints claiming for hand-ball in the box, but the referree waves play on.

63: EASTLEIGH SUB - Richardson OFF Roberts ON

67: Eastleigh test Forecast with two shots in quick sucession from Preston and Gillespie but can't quite find the target with either.

69: Paterson gets through on goal once again but falls foul of the linesman's flag before making way for a substitution.

70: SAINTS SUB: Paterson OFF White ON

70: EASTLEIGH SUBS: Martin & Jordan OFF Green & Sangha ON

74: EASTLEIGH SUB: Gillespie OFF Mason ON

78: EASTLEIGH SUB: Smith OFF Frempong ON

82: Eastleigh push forward down the left but Saints quickly win back possesion and play the ball back up towards midfield.

86: Dunford goes down under a hefty challenge inside the final third as Saints look to protect their 1-0 advantage.

89: GOAL 1-1 Eastleigh level with a minute to go as Tony Taggart sneaks in a low into the bottom right corner that sneaks brushes Forecast's hand and dribbles over the line.
