Saints were held for the second time in as many pre-season games as it finished two apiece at Testwood Park.
AFC Totton: Barfoot, Lewis, Troon (Cox 71), Whisken, Richardson (Faithfull 74), Couch, Scott, Hughes (Davis 56), Wheeler, Osman, Jack (Sherbourne 46)
Saints: (1st half) Forecast, Mills, Perry, Lancashire, James, Gobern, Gillett, Wotton, Thomson, Tessem, Paterson.
A packed out crowd has braved the torrential rain at Testwood Park with Saints fans out in force creating a friendly atmosphere at the home of AFC Totton.
The strange sight of seeing two former Saints lining up against one another has added to the occasion as both David Hughes and current Saints trialist, Jo Tessem who is playing as a striker, return to action.
Totton, lining up in their new all blue kit got things underway as the Saints side of the first half led by Paul Wotton tried to make an early impression following on from Saturday's 1-1 draw at Eastleigh.
Midfielder Oscar Gobern went close in the first minute of play as he collected a diagonal ball before firing wide of the left hand post, which would have given Mark Wotte's side a dream start.
Saints had to be alert at the other end though just a few minutes later, as Totton forward Nathan Jack forced goalkeeper Tommy Forecast into a scrambled save from a re-bound, which the former Spurs stopper did well to clear the danger.
On the quarter hour mark, Saturday's goal scorer, Matthew Paterson scuffed a shot over the bar before midfielder Ryan Scott did the same for the hosts moments later.
Saints left back Joseph Mills has shown no ill effects of his injury problems from last season, he put in a telling tackle just before the half hour mark to deny an attack from the Blues.
GOAL - Wotte's men took the lead on 31 minutes. Gobern, playing on the left of midfield, put a cross in towards Jake Thomson, whose scrambled effort was eventually touched over the line by the unfortunate Ian Richardson, who put through his own net to give the visitors the lead.
Spiky midfielder, Simon Gillett played Gobern through on 35 minutes and the Academy product shot narrowly wide of the left post after setting himself for the shot.
A Thomson cross five minutes before the break was only partially cleared and Gillett was on hand to curl a shot towards the right but again it escaped going inside of the post.
Saints had a penalty claim when Gobern was pulled down inside the area, but amongst the melee Paterson's goalbound shot was hooked away to safety.

Saints: (2nd half) Poke, Argent, Thomas, Saville, Reeves, Pulis, McNish, Boyle, Dunford, Doble, Rasiak.
The Saints side had a more youthful feel to it in the second half and there was a welcome return between the posts for goalkeeper Michael Poke who spent much of last season on loan at Torquay United.
Totton's only change at the break saw Nat Sherbourne introduced for Nathan Jack and the substitute almost made an instant impact as he connected with Matt Troon's corner with a strong header which flew just wide.
The second change for the hosts came on 56 minutes as Craig Davis replaced former Saint, David Hughes.
The Academy graduates in the Saints side started to make their presence known as midfielder Tom Dunford started a move with a testing run that provided Grzegorz Rasiak with a chance at goal. The Pole's shot was punched clear to the feet of Anthony Pulis but the former Stoke City man saw his effort land on the roof of the net.
On 69 minutes, right back Sam Argent made an encouraging dart forward, which led him to get a cross in from the by-line, presenting winger Jack Boyle with an opportunity at the far post, but his shot went wide.
Another Argent run and cross found Rasiak, who went close again as his strike hit the side netting from the left hand side.
In the 74th minute the hosts introduced Dean Faithfull as they set upon getting back into the match.
GOAL - However, on 81 minutes Saints went 2-0 up when a corner came back out to Rasiak, who turned the ball back into the area where Callum McNish was perfectly placed to fire a low shot home past Barfoot to extend the lead.
GOAL - Two minutes later though, Totton were back in it when Sherbounre supplied Mark Osman who was able to guide the ball past Poke for what looked like a consolation goal.
A warning came however, when Poke was called upon with three minutes left to play, as he made a stunning save to deny Scott's stinging shot from 15 yards out.
GOAL - With virtually the last kick of the game, a short corner led to a cross from substitute Danny Cox, who found fellow sub Dean Faithfull and the forward notched his second goal of the game with a firm downward header.
