Saints To Face Northampton

Posted on: Tue 15 Dec 2009

FA Cup

Saints will travel to Northampton Town in the second round of the F.A Cup.

The two have already met this season, in the League Cup, where Alan Pardew's side ran out 2-0 winners at St. Mary's thanks to goals from Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana.

Former Saint Stuart Gray was in charge of the Cobblers on that day, but he has since departed the League Two side. Ex Northampton captain Ian Sampson has since taken over managerial duties at Sixfields.

The F.A Cup draw consisted of teams from League One and below once more, with Saints securing their place in the hat after defeating Bristol Rovers 3-2 in the first round on Friday evening.

The second round tie will take place at Sixfields on the weekend of the 28th November. The date and kick-off time are to be confirmed.
