Dean Wants Entertainment Factor
Dean Hammond is looking to treat supporters to a game packed with excitement on Saturday at St. Mary's.
The midfielder hopes to serve up another high tempo match with Saints firmly in control from the start against Walsall, and the squad keen to replicate the atmosphere of recent matches.
"We want to win in front of our home supporters they give us a big advantage and have been fantastic all season," the skipper highlighted to Saints Player. "The attendances have been great. The last two home games were in front of full houses which always helps, because it's a great feeling to walk out and see that many people there and when you're winning it's even better.
"We've scored a lot of goals at home this season so hopefully they've been entertained so far, and we'll be looking to do that again on Saturday.
"It will be nice to play at home again. I think the boys have enjoyed playing at home this season where we've got a fairly good record and we go into the game confident after a very good win last Saturday and a draw on Tuesday night.
"It's a good return if you do that over the course of the season and in away games fantastic. We go into win every game, but if we'd drawn at Norwich and beaten Wycombe we'd be in the same position. We had a great result at Norwich and then on Tuesday we had a game that we could have and should have won, but we go into Saturday looking to forget about that and win the game."
This weekend's visitors Walsall currently sit ninth in the League One table and this is a game that will test Saints' play-off credentials.
"We've got ambitious players in the dressing room and we all want to do the best that we can and we do that by trying to win every game. We want to try and make the play-offs, we can do it, it is still possible so that's what we'll try and do.
"Walsall are a strong team in a decent position so obviously the league doesn't lie. It will be a test for us but we're confident against most teams in this division like we showed last weekend.
"I'm sure they'll have a game-plan as they did at Leeds on Saturday but if we do what we're set to do, then we've got the players to win the game."
