Experienced defender Radhi Jaidi is glad that he doesn't have to face the strength of Saints' attacking force.
The giant Tunisian centre-half, who has played consistently at the highest level of English football during his career, confessed to Saints Player that if he had to keep the team's forward line out, he wouldn't know where to start.
"If you see the Southampton results it's scary for other teams because if I took myself away from Saints, I would say, 'that looks like a tough game for me today.' It would be difficult to know what tactics to play against them because we have quality players up front and in midfield, so it must be a nightmare for other teams.
"Who am I going to pick to mark? If I choose Lambo then Lee Barnard, Punch or Adam will get in, or if they're all picked up then Dean Hammond is going to score. It's a hard team to play against especially up front, which is down to the quality players that the manager has brought in that makes our team what it is."
The centre back partnership he has struck up with José Fonte has been as equally successful as the formation at the other end of the pitch, and the 34 year-old believes that the connection with the Portugese national has been almost instant.
"Since we have lined up together I have felt that there has been a spirit between us. I can feel where he is on the pitch. He's giving his quality to the team now in defence and he's a good player who could be even better in a couple of years in a bigger league which is what we are focusing on."
Jaidi says that the mood in the camp is a positive one as the team continues to grow, and hopes that it will culminate in the team coming into form at just the right time.
"Everybody is happy, everybody is satisfied I think, but we are still concentrating on the games coming up especially Saturday which will not be an easy game, but I think everybody has confidence in the changing room because I see a lot of smiling faces when I go in there.
"We can feel it in ourselves, everyone is pleased for each other and the important thing is that the spirit is there and that's a good sign I think.
"The results we have got lately have given us more confidence and given us the smell of our aim, it's in our hands, and we're working hard and concentrating as much as possible to do that.
"It all depends on us. If we concentrate and focus on our programme doing what the manager asks then we will be unbeatable, but sometimes if we don't concentrate we give the other teams an advantage. We are playing well against the teams above us in the table at the moment, but there are still some harder games to come that we have to keep our concentration in to do things.
"Sometimes it can depend on the preparation from that week. If you feel in training you are concentrating all day on a team you will be fully focused on the game, but if you come in and you see the atmosphere is good and you think, 'I'm not going to train as hard today because the opposition are behind us in the league,' then you don't concentrate on the game and we should never think like that.
"We should look at it as three points and as a game that we should approach like all of the others and that will help us to reach our aims."
