Alan Pardew will make one enforced change this evening and may look at freshening up his side against Oldham.

The manager will be without the suspended Morgan Schneiderlin in midfield, which could has given Pardew much to ponder for his approach to the game.

"Morgan misses four games so his season is over now unless we get in the playoffs, he has put us at risk and he will be fined internally for that," the gaffer revealed. "At the moment it is just Morgan that we are missing, everyone else is fit and ready although Michail Antonio is a little bit sore but he has trained so we are still in good shape. We are not feeling negative at all, we feel very positive about the game but we have to put the same work-rate in.

"We have got fresh legs in the side so we have to play a team that I think can win the game and who will be fresh enough. Everyone has had a good rest so I don't think there will be any issues, but we are likely to get little injuries with the amount of games and the effort that we are putting in."

The players put in a determined display at Yeovil on Saturday and a late winner was just reward for the faith shown in with those who were on the pitch at full time.

"When you have so many goalscorers on the pitch there is always a chance when the clock is ticking. Man Utd have proven that over the years and I am trying to build the same winning mentality here, last minute goals are going to be part and parcel of that. I hadn't lost belief - I never do with this team.

"I think it has been our year, but that doesn't mean that we will get into the play-offs. We have got a chance of having the best record in the league apart from Norwich if we win against Oldham, we have a good chance of achieving that, and that is a real feather in our caps if we can do it."

Tonight's visitors will make it a far from straightforward task at St. Mary's, so the manager has called for every possible ounce of support from the home faithful.

"I feel that they can really help us in these next two games. They were absolutely brilliant on Saturday, the fans that we took to Yeovil. It was almost like a summer carnival atmosphere, and it was great to reward them with that late winner.

"We really need the punters and the fans that support us so well to be with us tomorrow, it will be important that they help us.

"I think Oldham have done exceptionally well. They have a small budget, they have good young players and some experienced heads in there as well. In particular they have Sean Gregan, who has played at a very high level and is a player that I have always liked, he leads by example and it will be a tough game. They are on this great run and perhaps need just one more win to make sure of safety, and this division - as Yeovil taught us - is never easy."
