The Saints Academy has welcomed in five scholars for the start of the 2010/11 season and we can now introduce them to you…

The Academy is at the forefront of the Club's future ambitions and continues to go from strength to strength with the new Football Development Support Centre at Staplewood up and running.

All five youngsters have signed up for the opportunity to become the Saints players of tomorrow, and whilst becoming a full-time scholar is major achievement in itself, the chance to now break into the professional game is something that the Class of 2010 will want to grab with both hands.

Here are the five in profile:

steven mowthorpe

A goalkeeper who stands at 6 feet tall and has also made his Under 18s debut already. Steven is a strong shot stopper who distributes the ball well. He has been involved with Saints since Under-14s level.

conor o'sullivan

A pacy full back who hails from Bristol, Conor has been involved in the Saints Academy since 2007 after impressing during a six week trial.

corby moore

Corby's ability on the ball and awareness make him well suited to a central midfield role. His dedication to playing in the Academy since the age of 8 has seen him already play in the Under-18s set up.

daniel bowman

An athletic and technically assured defender who joined the set up at Under 9s level. Bowman has already got an Under-18s victory over rivals Portsmouth under his belt after breaking into the older group last season.

joe curtis

A creative midfielder who formerly captained Leicester City's Under16s has joined Saints for the Club's reputation of developing young players. Joe's father used to play professionally for Charlton Athletic and his hometown Northampton.
