Assistant Manager Dean Wilkins gives us an insight into his role at the club in our latest Behind The Scenes feature.

Almost a year to the day that Dean joined Southampton, he tells Saints Player about his role within the management structure, and how the club has advanced in the last 12 months.

In particular Dean highlights the importance of video analysis, and explains how a Teddy Sherringham goal for Manchester United against Arsenal helped Rickie Lambert improve his attacking threat last season.

On the eve of our penultimate friendly against Reading, Dean also has a message for the fans for the upcoming campaign.
