Saints will have to defend the Johnstone's Paint Trophy from the start after not receiving a bye for the first round draw.

Last season's memorable winning run in the competition started in the second round at St. Marys against Torquay United after the team received a bye for the first round stage.

Saints then went all the way to then win 4-1 against Carlisle at Wembley, as the club picked up its first piece of silverware in 34 years.

This year the first round ties take place in the week commencing 30th August before Rochdale are due to visit St. Mary's on 4th September.

The draw for the South West section will take place on Saturday 14th August live on Soccer am with Saints set to face any one of the following sides in round one:
