José Fonte says Saints will soon put Saturday's result out of their system.
The towering Potugese central defender felt Plymouth got a smash and grab win at St. Mary's and he refused to be deflated after a positive performance against the Devon outfit.
"That's football," he conceded afterwards. "They had one chance in the whole game and they scored so we have to learn from this because it's going to happen.
"We had so many opportunities, but then they wouldn't move out of their own half. We tried and tried but we couldn't score. Sometimes it happens, but we kept fighting, the goal didn't come and whilst it wasn't the start that we wanted, we have to move on to the next game.
"The goal was a direct ball to the far post. Fallon won it and we weren't there for the second ball either so it was a lack of concentration from us, they scored early so we need to be more alive."
Fonte insists that the team are not feeling under any extra pressure at the moment despite being labelled as favourites for promotion this term.
"We showed in the first half what we can do and we know what we have to do. We know that we are under pressure, but we are professionals and we know where we want to go. It wasn't the start that we wanted but it happens in football, so we'll just try to win the next game and I'm sure that we will.
"We know we have to learn to know how to play without Rickie Lambert. We have great strikers here, Lee proved himself, but the goal wouldn't come. As you could see, we played better than them and created opportunities but the goal just never came.
"The new signings were comfortable. Danny has played 300 games for Crystal Palace and I've played with him before, I know him very well, he's an excellent player who we don't need to add much more about. Dickson had a very good game as well, we've been working hard as a squad, so let's just forget this game and move on to the next one, there's no other option.
"When you have a setback like this, you want to move on to the next one quickly and we will do that.
"Today wasn't the start that we wanted, but we had a great first half and we were confident. In the first five minutes of the second half there was a lack of concentration which cost us the game, so now we have to forget about this one and put things right."
