All you need to know if you are planning on making the trip to the Memorial stadium this weekend.

Postcode:

BS7 0BF

By car:

As far as away trips go, this one is relatively straight forward; a trip up the A34 and along the M4 will take less than two hours. Leave the M4 at Junction 19 and follow the M32, exiting this at Junction 2. The Memorial Stadium is signposted from here.

Parking:

Unfortunately there is no parking available for away fans, however, there is on street parking aplenty in the area surrounding the stadium, this fills up quickly though so you may be parking further away if you turn up late.

By train:

The nearest train stations to the Memorial Stadium are Montpelier, about one and a half miles to the south, and Filton Abbey Wood about the same distance to the north. The easiest route to take is to head straight into Bristol's main station, Temple Meads, and catch either a taxi or bus to the ground, neither of which will break the bank.

Pubs:

The pub officially recommended by the local police is the Sportsman public house in Neville Road. Other nearer ones are The Wellington (to the north of the ground near the junction of Gloucester Road and Muller Road), the John Cabot Inn (to the south of the ground), the Prince of Wales further down towards Montpelier station in Bishopston, the Golden Lion, Goose at the Flyer, Hobgoblin, and closest to the ground The Victoria and The Gloucester Arms. Also in Bishopston and worthy of a mention is the Annexe Inn which stocks a good range of ales.

The Stadium itself:

The Memorial Stadium is a mixture of terracing and seating, with the most vociferous home fans occupying the large Blackthorn Terrace.

Saints have been given 800 additional tickets for the open terrace on one side of the Uplands Stand. This area is open to the elements so you might get wet if it rains, as the fans who made the trip last season will tell you! If the weather is poor then it may be a better bet to head for one of the seats that are made available to away fans in the South Stand behind the goal.

Last time at the Memorial Stadium:

Saints put in a five star performance on their last visit to Bristol, as they came from a goal behind to win 5-1 back in April this year. Rovers took the lead with a Jeff Hughes penalty, given for a fairly innocuous looking challenge by José Fonte on Jo Kuffour. Rickie Lambert netted two before halftime, including a trademark free-kick from distance, but the match will be remembered as the one in which midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin netted his first goal for the Club. After going 79 matches without scoring, the Frenchman opened his account in style, volleying home a spectacular volley from outside the area. Adam Lallana and Jason Puncheon found the back of the net late on as Saints ran riot against Paul Trollope's men.
