Defender Jon Otsemobor joined Saints from Norwich City on a free transfer.

The Liverpool born attacking full back signed on a six month contract at St. Mary's to provide competition for the right back position in Alan Pardew's team.

The 26 year-old played regularly for the Canaries, signing for the then Championship outfit during the summer of 2007. The Norfolk side saw off a host of competition from divisional rivals to take him to Carrow Road after he earned a place in the League One team of the year with Crewe the previous season.

Otsemobor began his career on the books of Liverpool and made a handful of appearances in the first team playing twice against Saints, once in the League Cup and the other in the Premier League.

Loan moves to Bolton Wanderers and Rotherham United preceded a permanent move to Crewe Alexandra, where he played regularly in League One before he came to Norwich's attention.

He is no stranger to St. Mary's from that time, playing in the last three league visits Norwich have made to the south coast, including the thrilling 2-2 draw in League One in the 2009-10 campaign, where he made his 100th appearance for the Canaries.

Otsemobor initially arrived to provide immediate cover for Graeme Murty, and will boost Saints' defensive options.
