Morgan Schneiderlin joined Saints from RC Strasbourg in June 2008, having been previously recommended by Saints former Academy supremo Georges Prost.
The young French starlet signed a four-year contract in a deal that could rise to 1.5 million Euros.
Schneiderlin is primarily a defensive midfielder but can also play in a more attacking role if required. He has progressed into a regular feature of the Saints side after a steep learning curve in his first year when the club was relegated from the Championship.
Alan Pardew, a former midfielder himself has worked with the Frenchman to improve his all round game which has shown in the youngster's performances in League One.
