Andrej Pernecky joined the Academy in 2007 becoming the club's second Slovakian goalkeeper in as many years.
He has played for his hometown club Inter Bratislava as well as for the Under 17 national team, qualifying for the last U17 European Championships.
Saints first saw Pernecky playing against Wales at the Millennium Stadium. After winning that match and keeping a clean sheet, he was given a trial and joined Saints shortly afterwards.
He was a near ever present in the Under-18's side in 2008/09 and has featured for the Reserves under Dean Gorré.
