White is a versatile, attack minded player who has already made quite an impression at his hometown club.
Born in Southampton, White's potential was first recognised by the Academy as an eight year old. It wasn't until he turned 15 though that he began to play regularly for the Club's youth setup after a brief spell at Chelsea.
A change of pace and good technique on both feet make him a real handful and although he considers himself a striker, he has also been known to play in midfield.
White has featured in the FA Youth Cup semi-final in the 2005-06 season, as well as the Academy League play-offs where he scored the opener after coming off the bench against Blackburn in the semi-final to set Saints on their way to the Championship.
The former Woodlands Community College pupil's attacking talent and eye for goal have not gone unnoticed at St. Mary's despite a season stalled by injury. The winner of the 2006/07 season's Academy Player of the Year award, White had to accept his prize on crutches, after suffering a cruciate injury whilst training with the first team back in March 2007.
Despite his injury, White was still able to claim that season's top scorer prize for the Under 18s side and made a full recovery in 2007/08.
Following a strong pre-season, White was named on the bench for this season's Carling Cup tie against Exeter City, and went on to make his first team debut at Pride Park on 23rd August 2008.
He spent a brief loan spell at League Two side Shrewsbury Town where he scored one goal before being re-called as cover for first team duty in January 2009. A terrible injury however, followed on his return to Saints' reserves where he suffered a fractured fibula and a dislocated ankle when challenging for the ball with Aldershot Town's goalkeeper during a 4-2 win.
The injury curtailed his involvement for the season but he now hopes to get going again for the new campaign.
