SFC Debut: Coventry City (A) - FA Cup 7th January 2012
Welshman Ryan Doble is a product of the Saints Academy set up and has been a consistent performer at Under-18's level.
Primarily a central midfielder, Doble has also operated as a striker, a role which he excelled in during the 2008/09 campaign, scoring six times, with one of those goals coming during the 3-1 win in extra time against Derby County in the F.A Youth Cup.
Having completed his scholarship at the club, he played in a number of pre-season fixtures, and has broken into the first team squad under Nigel Adkins.
After overcoming a couple of long term injuries including shin splints, Doble was selected to represent his country at Under-21 level as part of the Young Dragon's European Championship qualification. He featured in the final two fixtures of qualifying, helping Wales to a win over Hungary in one of those games but it wasn't enough to secure a place at the 2011 finals.
