Aaron Martin joined Saints from neighbours Eastleigh on an initial 18 month contract in November 2009 a month after his 20th birthday.
The centre-back, who is a graduate of the Spitfires' youth system, signed after a trial at the club having been being recommended by former Saint Ian Baird.
During that spell he impressed in the reserves' 1-1 draw at Plymouth Argyle, completing the full 90 minutes in front of on-looking Saints manager Alan Pardew. He would later go on to make his full first team debut at Gillingham which he followed up with another start in the final game of the season against Southend United.
Martin measures in at over 6 feet tall and is a former student at nearby Itchen College, during which time he represented the England schoolboys side.
