SFC Debut: Coventry City (A) FA Cup 7th January 2012
A clever forward who has enjoyed eight years at Saints having previously played in the Tyro league for Oakwood Rangers.
Hoskins has always lived in Southampton, and was born in nearby Dorchester. Sam was the top scorer for the Under-18s in successive seasons, with his predatory instincts in front of goal making him a natural poacher.
He has continued his rich vein of form in front of goal in Martin Hunter's development side.
Sam was named amongst the substitutes for Saints' Carling Cup tie at Swindon in August 2011, and went on to make his debut for Nigel Adkins' side as a second half substitute in the 2-1 FA Cup win over Coventry City in January of the same season.
In March 2012, with 5 goals from 8 games to his name at Under-21 level with Saints, he joined Rotherham United on loan until the end of the campaign to gain further first team experience.
